Roundtable with Secretary Granholm Spotlights Office of Science Climate Research

U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm and the Office of Science held a virtual roundtable discussion on July 22 highlighting the office’s leadership in climate science research. Topics ranged from understanding wildfire impacts in ecosystems, using advanced scientific instruments to make atmospheric observations, and modeling the effects of climate change on people and communities.
Secretary Granholm was joined by Jane Lubchenco, Deputy Director for Climate and Environment at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, along with DOE climate scientists Margaret Torn (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory), Kate Calvin (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory), and Nicki Hickmon (Argonne National Laboratory).
